Cheeming Boey is a California-based artist who has gained notarity for the AMAZING art he creates on coffee cups. By combining two very simple things, paper cups and Sharpie Pens, he creates museum-worthy masterpieces that continue to ignite interest around the globe. In the same way that Warhol made soup cans famous, Boey is pushing the limits of pop culture with his coffee cups. This veteran Sharpie Squad member uses Sharpie Pens to create his intricately designed Joe-holders and then sells the cups online at iamboey.com. Beyond being featured in the OC Register and on maxim.com, he is also the man behind the cups in Sharpie's 2011 magazine ad for Sharpie Pen as part of the Start with Sharpie campaign.

Art or nuisance. Graffiti has gotten a bad rap for obvious reasons. Aimless and random tagging makes neighborhoods look bad and sometimes the neighbors in them fearful. But Allison Fenichel makes some good points about graffiti as an art form worth promoting and even allowing. Her article What Graffiti Gives to St. Louis, provides a thorough explanation of the why's and who's of graffiti. In some cases, it is cool looking, interesting and delivering a pretty poignant message about society, although inherently graffiti has negative implications - primarily because the practice is illegal and in most cases unwanted. Does the quality of graffiti on a wall make a difference? Maybe. But how do we separate the taggers from the artists? Debate amongst yourself or listen to what this guy and this guy have to say. And then check out these cool murals. Cool Graffiti Mural by Airone

It's been several long, silent years since we've heard from our boys. With unfortunate situations surrounding the Beastie's the past few years (MCA's battle with cancer, dead-end film projects and cancelled tours), the Beastie Boys are finally back from the boroughs delivering a supersonic assault packed with flavor and hot in all the right places. With their first studio album since 2007's The Mix-Up, the long awaited Hot Sauce Committee Part Two is seasoned with overtones from some of the Beastie's best years. At first listen, it's easy to pick out the overt nods to early albums like Check Your Head, Ill Communication and Hello Nasty on songs like OK, Say It and Lee Majors Come Again. But give another listen to cuts like The Larry Routine, and you'll hear nods back to Paul's Boutique and Licensed to Ill. The album starts off strong with Make Some Noise (sure to be blaring from every frat house once school is officially out) and carries the listener though a smorgasbord of aural excitement. Sixteen tracks deep, this album delivers and packs the heat (Extra Spicy).
